Homework due in Wednesday 22nd October 2008

As a result of feedback received on parent’s/carer’s evenings, we are giving the children longer to complete their homework. It will be given out every other Friday, to be brought in a week the following Wednesday. Thank you for your comments.

Y5WB Personal spellings.   Write target spelling words in a sentence.  Include capitals & full stops.  Repeat & add second sentence, ensuring correct full stops & capitals.

Y5SM Personal Spellings. Complete activity sheet on reverse of spelling list. Focus, suffix ‘ful’.

Maths: Create 5 word problems involving addition and subtraction. Don’t make them too easy!

Science:  What have you learnt about in Science this half term? Which experiment have you enjoyed the most? Describe it in detail.

Where’s the actual spelling list on this blog?

Reply: Thanks for using the blog Clare. We can’t put every bit of homework on the blog – it just wouldn’t be possible. Instead, we give a list of what’s given out so that you and your parents have a reminder of what homework you’ve got. You should have been given your spellings list a week on Friday. If you didn’t get one, see Mrs Meeks & she’ll give you a spare.

It’s a very good idea but I think there shood be more stuff on it like interviewing children about how they like school and how were there trips. Also you could put the newspaper on the website, the one that the year 4’s are doing.

Reply: Great ideas. We already put the school newspaper on the main blog (remember, this is the Y5 one). The other two ideas are maybe something the Y4 newspaper could do. Let’s have a word with Mrs Neale.
